Taylor
Taylor Swift was a rarity in pop culture: she was the sole celebrity who crossed from country into the mainstream and become a pop icon worldwide. Swift removed herself from the country genre like a second skin and showed that she had the best pop sensibility of her generation. Swift was the only musician/singer to take the popular zeitgeist on the road. Her early songs including the neotribute for Tim McGraw were a testament of her ability. However, her second album Fearless of 2008 proved to be a songwriter finding her voice, and also a larger fan base. The album was a huge success, not just on American soil, with six platinum-certified songs. In fact, the Top Ten songs Love Story and You Belong with Me were the primary reasons behind this. It also performed well all over the world. Swift took off to the peak of stardom after the release of Speak Now. The three albums following -- Red 2012 1989, Red 2012 as well as Reputation 2017, Swift's fame only grew. This was a sure indication that she was in the new music scene which she was able to fit into. However, even when she reduced her approach with 2020's stripped-down sibling releases folklore and Evermore she continued to be atop of the charts, a place she maintained with re-recordings of her back catalog along with Midnights her chart-topping synth-heavy 2022 collection.
