Dolly-Parton

Dolly Parton, born Jan. 19, 1946, in Locust Ridge Tenn. to 12 hungry children that would be raised together eventually, learned very early on how to conquer of difficulties with her incredibly imaginative imagination. Before she learned to write and read Dolly Parton had already begun to compose her own songs. Her first guitar was given to her at the age of eight. The singer began her singing career at a Knoxville Tenn station by the age of eleven. Gold Band Records is a small label that is independent. Even though she was still studying, she already established herself in the local music scene. However, her goal was to be able to perform at a much bigger size. She moved to Nashville shortly after her graduation in 1964. Dumb Blonde was her first single to reach the top of the charts for the first time on Monument Records. Porter Wagoner began looking for new female vocalists for his TV show syndicated by a network at approximately the exact time. Parton signed with RCA Records and then joined the Grand Ole Opry. She accepted her job in 1967. However, it wasn't until 1974 when she made the decision to quit Wagoner's band because the popularity of her own solo records including Joshua Coat, Many Colors, and Jolene exceeded their collective efforts. Parton wrote I Will Always love You in honor of Wagoner in the aftermath of their breakup. It reached number one. 1 for the first time in 1974.
