Lars Mikkelsen-1Lars Dittmann Mikkelsen, born 6 May 1964, is a Danish actor. He has appeared as Copenhagen mayoral election candidate Troels Hartmann in the drama series The Killing. Charles Augustus Magnussen in the third series of Sherlock and the Russian president Viktor Petrov in the American House of Cards on Netflix as well as Grand Admiral Thrawn in Star Wars Rebels. He received the Reumert Prize of Honour in 2011, aged of 27. In 1995, he graduated to the National Theatre School of Denmark. Apart from his appearance in The Killing, [1] he also appeared in Borgen III, a Danish drama series that was popular. He also played a central part in an episode of BBC drama Sherlock as blackmailer Charles Augustus Magnussen.In the American television show House of Cards, he played the president of Russia. In 2018, he received an International Emmy Award. His part in Danish television drama Herrens Veje won him an International Emmy Award. The show aired in the UK in the year 2019 under the name Ride Upon the Storm.
